Creative Zen Media Player

I reviewed the Creative Zen for the 2007 Evening Echo Christmas Gift Guide. It's a superb little player, and sound quality is top drawer. To my ear at least it beat the iPod Nano and the iPod Touch I reviewed alongside it hands down.
For a credit card sized device the 2.5" display is fantastic, and makes watching video or viewing photos a pleasure. I reviewed the 4GB version, but it also comes in 8, 16 and 32GB flavours. There's a high capacity SD Card reader on the top of the player, which means it's easy to slot in cards full of movies, podcasts or photos as necessary.
The one bugbear with this is that the contents of the SD Card aren't integrated into the excellent media library of the player -- you have to navigate to the content through a seperate menu option.
All in all Creative got this one right... an outstanding player that only misses out on five stars through the SD Card issue.
